Voicing Places is a platform for artistic research amplifying embodied, community-based reflections on the sensory. Sensing is messy; being in a body and relating to a site is an unstable process. We believe our sonic practices must address this directly, embracing the muddy, shifting ground on which we stand. We connect to the different, often conflicting, aspects of a place — its multiple layers, social dynamics, political contours, and the tensions between them.
Voicing Places embraces the instability of sensing and situated bodies. Through phenomenological, sensory approaches, it explores how historical, social and political forces shape places and subjects.
Soundwalks, participatory events, public interventions, and mixed-media artworks with Anna Jurkiewicz (lecture performance), Lake Urumia (live electronics), Carmen Pomet, Fabien Artal, and Adina Camhy.
The project investigates embodied listening not as a passive act but as a form of situated knowledge production — one that honours the multiplicity of sensory experiences across different bodies and communities.
